Well this weekend I took my kids to a couple of barbeques. At least they received some extra school supplies from one of them, it's always nice to get free stuff. The kiddies had fun at the other one, yesterday's, it was a community barbeque. They had activites fer them.
I haven't updated for awhile here, i know. Just been busy I guess. Last Wednesday my 17 year old son joined our family here in Ottawa. He had been living on the reserve with his other family. (His aunt Irene adopted him when he was born.) We've kept in contact over the years and we've seen one another over the years as well.
Anyway, Gary is settling in ok, but misses his buddies back home. I remember feeling that way when I first moved off the reserve, I was 19 at the time. I was so used to the bush life. LOL. Today is his first day and Waneek's too fer school, hope they make out o.k. Waneek (my 4 yr old) is scared to go back, she said she's scared of the puppets that is used in French class. It sounds funny, but to her they are frightening she'd rather get rid of them. She's scared of clowns too. They had one at yesterday's barbeque doing face painting but she didn't want to go anywhere near the clown. (haha) Maybe what I'll do is chat with her teacher about it.
I finally got the video that my daughter helped make last year, she is one of the hip hop dancers from Culture Shock Canada.
